Twelfth Night, by William Shakespeare
Directed by Helena Pimenta
A production by Teatro Español and UR Teatro

Since 1986, Helena Pimenta has been exploring Shakespeare's work on stage. After her journey through Spanish classical theater directing the National Classical Theater Company (2011 to 2019), she returns with Ur teatro to this beloved and always missed author with Twelfth Night, a comedy in which love is once again the protagonist. Written in 1602, it is one of Shakespeare's most admired comedies, in which the audience is a co-protagonist in the events.

"Shakespeare plunges us into the sea and then throws us onto the sand. We must always be reborn, die and be reborn again. In his comedies, amid laughter and sorrow, there is a journey into danger, into the unknown, where the identity we need to know resides. No matter how much we try to deny nature, it rebels and reveals itself. Disguise, play, passion, mockery, wordplay, and poetry come to our aid and decipher the mechanisms of knowledge of the soul of the world and of each one of us." Helena Pimenta
