The 2020–2021 academic year began with a strong commitment to in-person activities. In September 2020, the Museum's regulations were revised, and in January 2021, its Board of Directors was renewed. The uncertain situation led to an increase in digital products, such as distance learning programs, blended meetings and conferences, digital guided tours, and streaming for some initiatives.

The 2019-2020 financial year has been an atypical one, affected by COVID-19 and the subsequent global health emergency. The Museum's facilities were closed between March 13 and May 26, 2020. This closure affected the planning of exhibitions, performing arts and music, public programs, and programming aimed at schoolchildren and university students, two groups that completed their respective academic years remotely.
