Expo_EnvironmentExplorationMeeting_Summary

This project invites the public to participate and connect with art by exploring our immediate, everyday surroundings. Theexhibition is the result of the project chosen from among the Master's Thesis Projects of the second class of the Master's Degree in Curatorial Studies.

Curators:Equipo Sobremesa, consisting of Renata Alvarez, Manuel Gamaza, and María Angélica Moreno.

Ten artists are featured in the exhibition: Daniela Acosta, Iñaki Chávarri, Olalla Gómez, Raúl Hevia, Antón Hurtado, Fernando Maselli, Ricardo Moreno, Kate McLean, Jessica Thompson, and Ainize Txopitea. In the selection of works created for this exhibition, the artists reflect on their surroundings through aesthetic research, sensory journeys, and everyday interactions.

His reflection stems from the lockdown during the first months of the pandemic and how it affected our collective experience. Everything we went through sparked a debate about the importance of interacting with our environment, both physically and emotionally.

The lack of contact, the need to maintain social distancing, not being able to travel beyond what is essential or move freely around the city... has led us to want to explore our usual spaces and places again.

Environment, Encounter, Exploration invites visitors to explore, relearn, and take a journey from the particular to the universal, from the circumstantial to the emotional. It is a sensory approach to urban landscapes, to those spaces we pass through and inhabit. The exhibition includes workshops and conferences, in-person and online tours, as well as digital channels through which the public can participate with their perceptions to enrich the exhibition.

The team of young curators invites visitors to participate in the artistic experience of recovering and rediscovering their surroundings and exploring everything around them, perhaps through nostalgia or a new sensibility.
