Masterclass Ignacio Miguéliz Valcarlos

Bachelor's degree in Geography and History from the Autonomous University of Madrid (1996) and PhD in Philosophy and Letters from the University of Navarra (2004). 

Since 2006, he has been working as Head of Exhibitions and Collections and Curator at the University of Navarra Museum. 

His profound knowledge of the University of Navarra Museum Collection is reflected in his curation of this new exhibition, which will feature previously unseen pieces alongside familiar ones, presented with a new narrative. 

     

 

Masterclass Cristina de Middel

Cristina de Middel is a Spanish documentary photographer and artist who lives and works between Brazil, Mexico, and Spain. She has been a member of the Magnum Agency since 2016, won the 2017 National Photography Award, and has worked as a photojournalist for various Spanish newspapers and NGOs.

With more than 12 books published, Cristina De Middel has been awarded and nominated as a finalist in numerous competitions such as PhotoFolio Arles 2012, the Deutsche Börse Prize, and the Infinity Award from the International Center of Photography in New York.

 


 

Masterclass with Manolo Laguillo

ManoloLaguillo holds a degree in philosophy and Germanic philology and a PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, where he has been a professor of photography since 1996. Between 1986 and 1992, he was a visiting professor of photography at the Braunschweig University of Art in Germany.

He has translated Walter Benjamin, Franz Hessel, and Siegfried Kracauer into Spanish. His work is featured in the National Art Museum of Catalonia, the Virreina Image Center, the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Reina Sofía Museum.

He has held various exhibitions and training workshops, curated several photography exhibitions, and published several books.

Three of the ten artists participating in theEntorno Encuentro Exploraciónexhibition will share their experiences with the curators and the public and reflect on the concepts of freedom, nature, and the city in a meeting prior to the opening of the exhibition halls. The discussion will be moderated by Marian Moreno, a member of the Alumni group of the Master's Degree in Curatorial Studies, who curated the proposal.
