Moisés P. Sánchez, a musician of astonishing imagination, awarded both within and beyond our borders and with a growing international reputation, presents this musical dissertation in which music and philosophy go hand in hand.

On the occasion of the centenary of Ludwig Wittgenstein's book of the same name, Moisés P. Sánchez presents this proposal in 2021, characterized by the logical-compositional construction of the score, the use of prepared and electroacoustic piano, and musical references to the concepts that have made Wittgenstein's Treatise one of the most influential books of 20th-century thought.

Wittgenstein, in his early work and more specifically in the work we are discussing here, asserts that we shape our thoughts through language, and that these thoughts are ultimately a logical representation of what we are capable of expressing through language. It is very interesting to extrapolate this concept to musical composition and the creation of a piece that is interconnected with this treatise, since in music, the languages one masters are the prison in which one is held captive in order to express one's ideas from a theoretical point of view, but also from an emotional point of view.

In Tractatus, the Madrid-born musician focuses on all these concepts through the piano in multiple forms, with the aim of conveying on stage the philosopher's solitary process, the logical and intuitive creation of his thinking in real time through his knowledge of different compositional languages: classical, jazz, electronic, dodecaphonism, free improvisation... In short, a modern, contemporary and unambiguous language.
