HOW TO DO THINGS WITH...The Way of St. James

ACTIVITY CANCELED

Thu, March 31 / 7:00 p.m.
Classroom 2

Free admission upon collection of invitation

A meeting with Santiago Olmo, director of the Galician Center for Contemporary Art, and Juan Ramón Corpas Mauleón.

Hamish Fulton specializes in the art of walking, and in the exhibition Walking East, he reflects through different pieces on the experience of having walked the French Way in reverse, walking backwards. Even though he "turned it around," this work connects with one of the most traveled routes in Europe, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, which keeps alive the cultural practice of walking to which Fulton's work is dedicated.

In How to do things with the Camino de Santiago, we will look at the richness and significance of the Camino, its cultural relevance and its presence in contemporary creation, in conversation with Santiago Olmo, director of the Galician Center for Contemporary Art, promoter of various artistic projects related to the Way, and with Juan Ramón Corpas Mauleón, a doctor and writer who has dedicated much of his life to the world of St. James as a pilgrim, author of several monographs, and member of the Jacobean Council, among other organizations.
