Contemporary Dance Workshop
From October 30 to November 9, participants will be involved in the final phase of the creative process for the new production Materia by the Zuk Performing Arts company.
Professionals in choreography, sound design, lighting, and audiovisual production will lead practical sessions and theoretical classes aimed at showcasing the daily work and reality of a stage production.

WORKSHOP SESSIONS HISTORY OF DANCE by Itsaso A. Cano A retrospective on authors, dance works, and movement arts that will introduce participants to the current landscape of contemporary dance. THE CREATIVE PROCESS by Itsaso A. Cano and Miguel GP Explanation of the creative process in theater and a brief prologue to the play "MATERIA." Some insights into contemporary creation will be provided, which can serve as a guide for use in other creative fields. THEATRICAL LIGHTING, COSTUMES, AND SET DESIGN Practical explanation of the basics of creative lighting in contemporary theater and its application in the play "MATERIA." We will also explain what costume and set design consist of, and how to use both to benefit the play. THE SOUND SPACE by Sofía Comás The creation of soundscapes in the performing arts and their use in a creative process that runs parallel and simultaneously to that of the movement arts. AUDIOVISUAL RECORDING FOR PERFORMING ARTS by Miguel PG and Vicente Romero Theoretical session in the theater on how to record the performing arts. Tips on how to avoid common mistakes and how to be efficient in an uncontrolled environment. DRESS REHEARSAL After seeing all aspects of a stage production, participants will attend the dress rehearsal of the play "MATERIA" at the theater. This will allow them to appreciate the final staging resulting from the creative process they worked on previously. |

ACTIVITIES IN UNIVERSITY HALLS OF RESIDENCE Every day from 10 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., there will be a meeting with the artists to discuss the work done and the progress of the creative process that day. The evening discussions will focus on the daily routine of activities carried out in the development of the work "MATERIA," obtaining feedback from participants and daily explanations about the progress of the production and whether or not to include new contributions. On November 8, from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m., there will be a 15-minute performance of the play "MATERIA" at one of the university residences, followed by a discussion with the artists, coinciding with the dress rehearsal scheduled for that day. |
