Kor'sia Company. The Lamb
The Lamb is the new choreographic work by the Kor'sia company, a work in progress that shows modern man, lacking guidance and trapped by the tedium of European culture.
Sacrifice is the central theme of the play, which is conceived as a postmodern sacramental drama inspired by the final hour of a man who finds himself in purgatory disguised as a non-place. There, the man recalls five fundamental events that he undertook in his life, five sacrifices, and the choreography is a metaphor for the changing goals and desires of human beings: love, beauty, work, etc.
After the performance, there will be a discussion with the artists and Roger Salas, curator of the Coda en movimiento series and expert in dance and ballet.
General admission: €10 and €6
Strobe lights are used in the show.
THE SHOW
Approximate duration: 60 minutes
"Only those who have known anguish rest in peace; only those who descend into hell save their loved ones."
Søren Kierkegaard
Similar to Kor'sia's previous work, Cul de Sac, focused on the current social and values crisis, The Lamb once again uses contemporary dance to question us about current events, but with an emphasis on ontological issues.
The show talks about lambs as metaphysical animals, or in other words, as individuals who cannot find a guide or shepherd to combat the tedium that takes root in the heart of European culture. The body appears as an ideal place to recreate and repair the wounded spirit. Notions such as offering, work, or atonement invite us to think about sacrifice.
Sacrifice is the central theme of The Lamb, which is conceived as a postmodern sacramental play inspired by the final hour of a man who finds himself in purgatory disguised as a non-place. With this structure, the choreographies are metaphors for the changing goals and desires of human beings: love, beauty, work, etc.

KOR'SIA
Kor'sia was founded in 2012 out of a need to communicate through the body, to become visible as creators and performers. Its career has had promising results, participating in international festivals in Spain, Italy, Denmark, Holland, and France.
The company expresses the meaning of its work as follows:
We want to create and express our opinions and emotions and, through them, make people fall in love, make them think, and give the audience a fresh and new experience.
In this era of speed, acceleration, and uncertainty, we have been abandoning cultural constructs forged in affection and emotion, which have accompanied and stabilized us throughout time. The reflection of this abandonment in dance has transformed it into an instrument that is increasingly seen as a mere technical, virtuoso, and image-based product.
We believe that this chosen path leads us toward the loss of the true meaning of the movement arts, which in our opinion is nothing more and nothing less than the transmission of the cultural meanings that construct us as human beings, using the body as a fundamental tool.
That is why we want to consider in our creative process the reconstruction of the essential connections we find between body, mind, emotion, movement, and cultural meaning, retracing some lost paths.
