Masterclass with the curators of “University of Navarra Museum Collection. Four Decades”

  Tuesday, September 24
  7:00 p.m.

The curators of the exhibition, Valentín Vallhonrat and Ignacio Miguéliz, reveal the key elements of this major exhibition which, to mark the tenth anniversary of the University of Navarra Museum, offers for the first time a comprehensive overview of the evolution of its collection since its inception in the early 1980s.

Organized around its two major collections, photography and painting and sculpture, the MUN collection traces the evolution of the visual arts in the construction of images that facilitate our knowledge and understanding of reality. The works on display invite us to explore 185 years of art through multiple perspectives.

Starting with the different beginnings of the collection, the Ortiz Echagüe, María Josefa Huarte, Oriente, and América collections, moving on to paper and digital photography, videos and installations, and theTender Puentes artist residency program, we move forward and traverse the historical and artistic periods, techniques, and themes that form the backbone of the collection, from the beginning of photography in 1839 to the present day.
