BIOGRAPHY
Hamish Fulton
![]() |
Born in 1946 in London (England), he lives and works in Canterbury. He trained at Hammersmith College of Art, St. Martin’s School of Art, and the RCA Royal College of Art, among other prestigious institutions. Since the early 1970s, he has traveled the world on foot, covering 24 countries, hundreds of kilometers, and several thousand steps. For him, walking is fundamental; ephemeral walking is a work of art. Fulton's work differs from American Land Art in its softness, intimacy, and great economy of means. He photographs the landscape without intervention or artifice. |
