Navarra Symphony Orchestra

Founded in 1879 by Pablo Sarasate, the Navarra Symphony Orchestra (OSN) is the oldest active ensemble on the Spanish orchestral scene.

In its nearly 140 years of existence, it has performed in major concert halls, opera seasons, and festivals both in Spain and abroad. Of particular note are its several appearances at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées and the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, as well as the concert tour organized by Universal Music in major European concert halls.

As the leading interpreter of the composer and violinist Pablo Sarasate, his recording of the complete works of this Navarran composer for Naxos with violinist Tianwa Yang has been unanimously praised by international critics. The OSN is also undertaking a recording program with Polish conductor Antoni Wit for this label. Since the 2018-2019 season, its principal conductor and artistic director has been Manuel Hernández Silva.

Pamplona Choral Society

The Orfeón Pamplonés is one of the oldest and most active musical institutions of its kind in Europe, founded in 1865. Its mission is to cultivate, develop, and promote music in all its forms, particularly choral music.

It has become one of the most prestigious choirs in Spain, and in 2010, the Orfeón became the first Spanish choir to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York, alongside Valéry Gergiev and the Mariinsky Orchestra.

In 2012, it performed at Lincoln Center with Frühbeck de Burgos and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, receiving rave reviews in media outlets such as The New York Times. In 2015, it toured with Vladimir Jurowski in London, Paris, Madrid, and Pamplona. It became the first choir in the country to perform at the BBC Proms in London and at the White Nights of St. Petersburg last June.

Pamplona Chamber Choir

Since its founding in 1946, the Pamplona Chamber Choir has been linked to the composers of its time, and this decision has marked its entire history. Many of the leading composers of these seven decades have maintained and continue to maintain a close relationship with the group, which has commissioned, premiered, and/or disseminated numerous works that form part of the national musical heritage.

For this reason, and for its momentous role in introducing avant-garde music to Navarre, in 2018 it received the Prince of Viana Culture Award, the most recent recognition bestowed upon the choir, after the Gold Medal for Merit in Work, the Commander of the Order of Civil Merit, and the Commander of the Order of Alfonso X the Wise.

Currently, the choir is an institution with a strong national and international presence: Ciclos del Auditorio Baluarte, OSN, Festival des Abbayes, Festival de Musique Baroque du Jura, Festival de la Chaise-Dieu, Quincena Musical de San Sebastián, among many others... It has recently performed alongside artists of the stature of María Bayo, Nuria Rial, Simon Carrington, Mark Padmore, Leonardo García Alarcón, and Manuel Hernández Silva.
