Abe Rábade Trio. ONCE
Abe Rábade Trio presents ONCE, their latest album, their eleventh, with eleven tracks, in concert.
“I have been able to open up eleven paths around me; evocative, thorough, and vigorous, they allowed themselves to unfold slowly. I know that music can only truly be reached through music, but there are also keys that open the doors to a richer journey.”

ONCE, his eleventh album, has eleven tracks and takes advantage of the complex rhythm in eleven to compose and dedicate songs to Paco de Lucía ("Once para Paco"), experiment with rhythm ("Once contra siete") or capture the rhythm of water droplets falling from clothes hanging in his parents' house in the song "Gotas."
ABE RÁBADE TRIO
The trio emerged as a stable formation in Boston in 1996. Babel of Sounds is his first album and features live recordings from his participation in the Getxo International Jazz Band Competition in 2000, where he won second prize. His second album, Symmetries, was presented at the Plaza de la Habana Jazz Festival in 2002.
Playing on Light was considered by Cuadernos de Jazz magazine as the Best Jazz Album in Spain in 2006. Zigurat ( 2010) and A Modo (2012) received the Best Jazz Album Award in Spain from the Independent Phonographic Union by popular vote.
VerSons (2013) is his first album of standards, which includes Baroque music and Galician folk music. Tránsitos ( 2015) was recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Galicia, and in 2016 he released ONCE, his eleventh album.
Abe Rábade Trio, piano, double bass, and drums, is committed to a strong rhythmic and harmonic exploration, without forgetting its clear enthusiasm for melody. Music from such diverse sources flows naturally in a trio that, after years of intense work, remains committed to the intuition of its members and the complicity of its listeners.
