Geography of Time. Bleda y Rosa
The María Bleda and José María Rosa National Award winners present Geography of Time, an exhibition that brings together twenty-five years of their photographic work and is structured around the series Battlefields.
MASTERCLASS MARCH 21, 7:30 PM
OPENING MARCH 21, 8:00 PM
Geography of Time brings together twenty-five years of photographic work by María Bleda (Castellón, 1969) and José María Rosa (Albacete, 1970), structured around the series Battlefields: a project begun in 1994 and recently completed, which is now being shown in its entirety for the first time. The exhibition opens with Campos de fútbol ( Soccer Fields, 1992–1995), the first project to gain public recognition, a series that, by establishing a dialectic between place, time, and memory, heralds the conceptual axes around which their work would later revolve. The exhibition is completed with works from the series Origen ( Origin, 2003-), Prontuario(Handbook), and Notas en torno a la Guerra y la Revolución ( Notes on War and Revolution, 2011-).
MARÍA BLEDA AND JOSÉ MARÍA ROSA

Bleda y Rosa, who received the 2008 National Photography Award from the Spanish Ministry of Culture, are one of the most prominent figures in contemporary Spanish photography. Their work, executed with exquisite formal skill, offers a critical interrogation of images and history, the relationship between past and present, and the discourses and visions that traverse that relationship.
