It tells the story of two lovers who manage to find each other despite the unreasonableness that surrounds them, trying to win their battle through love, an essential driving force in the Golden Age theater tradition, and wit, which often drives the comic elements.

Fools have all the fun Don Lucas del Cigarral is a wealthy, ridiculous, and excessive gentleman who intends to marry Doña Isabel de Peralta, who, however, has fallen in love with Don Pedro, Don Lucas' cousin, who is as handsome as he is poor. The two fell in love at first sight before they even knew each other, and they meet again because Don Pedro himself is in charge of making the first contacts with the lady before the wedding, which allows the lovers to cultivate their love intensely. As they try to outwit Don Lucas, two unexpected obstacles appear: another suitor, Don Luis, who also wants Isabel, and a lady, Doña Alfonsa, Don Lucas's sister, who is after Don Pedro... The plot thickens, led by Cabellera, Carranza, and Andrea, the servants who will grease the wheels of this play, which takes place almost entirely on a road, with stops, inns, nightlife, and treachery—the perfect breeding ground for a comedy of errors.
The work Entre bobos anda el juego is considered a model of figurón comedy, a subgenre of swashbuckling comedy that revolves around a flawed character who is caricatured and surrounded by a series of adventures that become increasingly entangled until the end. Yolanda Pallín comments that there are surprising contemporary elements in this figurón. It is a heterogeneous work, mixing genres ranging from light comedy to vaudeville. It has a directly theatrical language, apparently colloquial and very functional, and surprises with a treatment of social relations that was not at all common at the time.

Eduardo Vasco Doctorate in Theater Studies from the Complutense University of Madrid. Master's Degree in Theater and Performing Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid. Bachelor's Degree in Acting (1990) and Stage Direction (1996) from the Royal School of Dramatic Arts in Madrid. Studied stage direction at the Regie Opleiding Theaterschool Amsterdam (Netherlands), Beckett Workshop course taught by Joe Chaikin (Open Theatre) at Das-Arts (Amsterdam School of Advanced Research in Theatre and Dance Studies). Extensive training as a musician and specialist in sound space for theater. He was director of the National Classical Theater Company from 2004 to 2011. He has worked as a stage director in various companies, including Noviembre Compañía de Teatro Clásico, Centro Dramático Nacional, and Teatres de la Generalitat Valenciana, among others. |

Yolanda Pallín Bachelor's degree in Hispanic Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid. Bachelor's degree in Dramatic Arts (Acting) from the Royal School of Dramatic Arts in Madrid (1990). She is currently a professor at RESAD, in the Department of Writing and Theater Sciences, and is a member of the CDN Reading Council.
He has premiered several plays with Noviembre Compañía de Teatro, including La fuerza lastimosa by Lope de Vega, Hamlet, Twelfth Night, and Othello by William Shakespeare; Don Juan en Alcalá by Zorrilla; and Hedda Gabler by Ibsen, among others. He has adapted classic texts for the Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico (National Classical Theater Company) and has received various awards such as the María Teresa León, Calderón de la Barca, Ojo Crítico, and Max for best playwright. |
November Theater Company
The company began its journey in 1995 and works in two distinct areas: one based on the universal classical repertoire and the other focused on contemporary drama.
Since its inception, the company has focused on the most interesting authors on the national scene, such as Yolanda Pallín and Borja Ortiz de Gondra. Hedda Gabler by Ibsen, The Road to Wolokolamsk by Heiner Müller, and Endgame by Samuel Beckett have been the choices for the international contemporary repertoire. In terms of the classical repertoire, they have staged works by William Shakespeare and Lope de Vega, among others.
All this experience makes them one of the most stable companies in contemporary Spanish theater, both because of the strength of the duo formed by Yolanda Pallín and Eduardo Vasco as the creative heads of the company, and because of the work in production by Miguel Ángel Alcántara and the team of actors and collaborators who make up each project.
