RESEARCH GROUP: GOLDEN AGE UNIVERSITY OF NAVARRA

The Golden Age Research Group (GRISO), founded in 1990 by Ignacio Arellano, brings together 13 researchers from the University of Navarra itself and nearly 40 associate members from various Spanish and foreign universities and cultural institutions. Since the 1997-1998 academic year, it has been developing the "Golden Age" Priority Research Line at the University of Navarra, which includes various multidisciplinary projects that have facilitated the creation of international research networks.

Since its inception, GRISO has organized numerous international conferences (more than two hundred, in Europe, Africa, America, and Asia), also promoting the publication of studies and critical editions (on Calderón, Quevedo, Tirso de Molina, Cervantes, Lope de Vega, Bances Candamo, etc.), book collections ("Complete Sacramental Plays by Calderón," "Biblioteca Áurea Hispánica," "Biblioteca Indiana," "Publications of the Institute of Indian Studies," "Anejos de La Perinola," "BIADIG-Biblioteca Áurea Digital," etc.) and scientific journals of recognized international prestige (La Perinola. Revista de Investigación Quevediana and Anuario Calderoniano, both indexed in Thomson Reuters Web of Science / Arts and Humanities Citation Index and rated "Excellent" by the FECyT). Among his latest projects, Identidades y alteridades. La burla como diversión y arma social en la literatura y cultura del Siglo de Oro( Identities and Otherness: Mockery as Entertainment and Social Weapon in the Literature and Culture of the Golden Age) stands out.

CARLOS MATA is an associate professor in the Department of Philology at the University of Navarra, secretary general and researcher for the Golden Age Research Group (GRISO) at the University of Navarra, and secretary of the Institute for Golden Age Studies (IDEA). He is also a member of the board of directors of the Association of Cervantes Scholars and a correspondent in Spain for the Bolivian Academy of Language.
