Oximórica. Javier Martín
Price: $4.50
The young dancer Javier Martín will perform in the museum's exhibition halls, interacting with the work "The Black Forest" by artist Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle, which consists of two large charred wooden cubes. This dance solo is the result of a cross-disciplinary and participatory residency focused on the arts of movement.
With a scientific background and multiple conceptual interests, Javier Martín presents his solo improvisation and subsequent debate as a shared experience. In Control, he develops the concept of transformation to create a solo. The Galician artist wants to "discover how this psychic energy is structured in the body; to find out how this energy remains immobile, potential, pacing and changing the location of the constant movement of homeostasis, its inherent kinetics or biodynamics."
"I was never interested in the movement of the body; what interests me is the movement of the soul. The body expresses itself as a consequence of the movement of the soul. Working on choreography from the body is a superficial way of acting, and therefore the wrong way to talk about things that are truly important and immanent," the artist emphasizes.
