The artist is on campus - Masterclass with Ernesto Arias

FRI 18 FEB / 6:00 PM
Workshops

On the occasion of the performance of El animal de Hungría, its director, Ernesto Arias, will share in this conference the vicissitudes of this project, which was born out of a love for the Golden Age and a desire to learn how to handle verse on the part of a group of recent graduates from RESAD.

The complicity of the group and the freedom afforded by the lack of prior knowledge of this unpublished text by Lope de Vega are perhaps key to the staging.

ERNESTO ARIAS

His professional career spans the fields of acting, directing, teaching, and consulting on verse and spoken word. He has also been co-director (alongside Darío Facal) of the Clásicos en Alcalá Festival in 2019 and 2020. He has directed numerous productions of Golden Age texts and, as an actor, has worked on numerous productions in institutions and companies.

In addition to all this, he has had a long career as a speech and verse advisor on various productions, and as a teacher. He currently teaches Vocal Technique, Oral Expression, and Verse at the Royal School of Dramatic Art (RESAD) in Madrid.
