ROGER SALAS
Born in Holguín (Cuba) in 1950, he has been the dance and ballet critic for the newspaper El País for 28 years. As a critic and chronicler, he has been an enlightened witness to the most important events in the field worldwide, awarded and recognized by the ballet profession in the most demanding performance forums, from the Venice Biennale to the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg and La Scala in Milan. His lectures have reached the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
In addition to giving lectures in different parts of the world, he is the author of numerous books and articles on dance and ballet.
VIRGILIO SIENI
Sieni trained in classical and contemporary dance in Amsterdam, New York, and Tokyo, but his career also includes studying visual arts, architecture, and martial arts. In creating his works, Sieni has often collaborated with renowned visual artists, musicians, and composers, such as Alexander B?l?nescu, Ennio Morricone, Steve Lacy, Francesco Giomi / Tiempo Royal, Evan Parker, Stephen Scodanibbio, Toderi, Liliana Moro, Maurizio Nannucci, and Flavio Favelli.
Together with his company, Sieni supports the creation of shows from a program of research, study, and dissemination of contemporary choreographic language articulated in residency projects, production, and training. Since 2003, he has directed Cango CantieriGoldonetta in Florence, and since 2007, the Academy of Gesture, aimed at transmitting artistic practices and establishing a new relationship between education and production, aimed at professionals and groups of newcomers to dance, from childhood to old age, for blind people.
