Artificial infinity. Fernando Maselli
In his series Artificial Infinity, photographer Fernando Maselli (Buenos Aires, 1978) reflects on the aesthetic concept of the sublime through images of mountainous landscapes that are still untouched by humans. In a concept linked to Burke and Kant's theories about the sensible and the spiritual, which goes beyond beauty, his landscapes connect with the entire artistic tradition that subordinated man to the immensity of nature. His photographs convey a sense of infinity, achieved artificially through montages with the repetition of elements that recreate an idyllic but invented landscape, dominated by grandiose views that confront the majesty of nature.
