General admission: €9
Students: €4
The University of Navarra Symphony Orchestra kicks off its fifth season with its traditional fall concert. For this program, the group held a competition among its members to select one of them to perform as a soloist alongside the rest of their colleagues. Following the success of the competition, and with the aim of providing as many opportunities as possible, three soloists were selected: Martín Olmedo, Lucía Mena, and Amaya Arboniés.
Olmedo will perform the first movement of the Bassoon Concerto in F major, Op. 75, an essential work for the instrument alongside W. A. Mozart's famous concerto. Mena will play the first movement of the Harp Concerto in B flat major, HWV 294, which, although originally written for this instrument, became part of the cycle of organ concertos, Op. 4, as No. 6.
The third soloist and, until last season, concertmaster of the ensemble, Arboniés, will perform the Romanza for violin in F minor, Op. 11, a single-movement work.
Each season, the group prepares a program of increasing difficulty to share with the public in a concert open to all audiences. An opportunity to enjoy live symphonic music.
