The piece questions the idea of the group and formulates new forms of relationship, articulating different types of dependence. It unfolds different situations based on the same concept. The five dancers progress together. Sometimes linked, sometimes separated, but always close. In a playful tone, they evolve with precision through the music by Chopin and Bach, creating lucid chaos. Best Dance Piece 2018 at "La danza inunda Santander" (Dance Floods Santander) – La Espiral Contemporánea (Santander Contemporary Dance Festival) |

SERENITY SUITE
|
A piece of great artistic maturity, both in its choreography and its performance. The theme of the "passage of time" runs through the entire piece, subtly, without gravity, without nostalgia. A duet in which Matxalen continues to demonstrate her expertise in the management of "space-time." With this work, she has broken new ground that she had not previously explored: transformations of the face, insertion of texts.
An extremely moving duo with a very discreet expressiveness mixed with abstraction. A generous dance, inhabited and very sober at the same time; a dance that goes to the essential and radiates without fuss. |
