THE CHOIR AND THE COLLABORATION

The university choir is a musical group made up entirely of students from the University of Navarra, conducted by Ekhi Ocaña, professor of music at the Pablo Sarasate Conservatory, flutist, composer, and director of the Zorongo group.

The choir performs continuously throughout the year. Their hard work and dedication have enabled them to achieve a level of excellence that has caught the attention of professional artists such as Amancio Prada. Once again, they have come together thanks to the collaboration of the Museum's departments to offer us an anthological performance, free and open to the spark that arises from a passion for music.

Amancio Prada

The musical work of Amancio Prada (Dehesas, León, 1949) as a composer and performer has always had a literary basis which, throughout his discography, has shaped an anthological journey through the peninsular lyric, from the cantigas of the first Galician-Portuguese troubadours (12th and 13th centuries), through the Romancero, Juan del Enzina, Jorge Manrique, San Juan de la Cruz, Santa Teresa, and Rosalía de Castro, to contemporary authors.

Among other awards, he has received the Castelao Medal of Galicia (1995), the Castilla y León Arts Award (2005), the Grand Prix du Répertoire Sacem (Paris, 2008), the Tenco Award (San Remo, 2010), and the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts (2011).
