The University of Navarra Museum is hosting a new exhibition that occupies the six rooms on the -1 floor, with 1,200 m² of exhibition space. Interactions, 2011-2015,isthe most recent collection of works by artistJavier Vallhonrat. This exhibition brings together a total of 52 photographic works, seven videos, and a video installation, structured in five distinct parts: 42ºN - Standard Drift - Margin Record - Limit Friction - Eolionimia.

Interacciones has been developed in high mountain environments and extreme weather conditions. The artist has worked in these areas, creating images that confront uncertainty and unpredictability with the human need for control and predictability. This project is understood as an exploration of the mountain experience, the fragility of man in the face of nature and extreme conditions, but also as a questioning of different modes of landscape representation.

The experience of the slow passage of time and the uncertain space of the high mountains occur in conditions that foster a state of vulnerability. In these circumstances, the perception of the ecological and geoclimatic niche of the high mountains, alien and threatening, gradually transforms into a perception of an equally vulnerable place where knowledge and immediate experience can dialogue in the face of conditions of uncertainty.

Interacciones originated from Javier Vallhonrat's participation in the Tender Puentes project, promoted since 200202 by the Museum to create contemporary works based on the historical pieces preserved in the Museum. For this project, the photographer focuses his attention on two photographs of the Maladeta massif in the Huesca Pyrenees, taken by Viscount Joseph Vigier after climbing from Luchon to Portillón de Benasque at an altitude of 2,440 meters in the summer of 1853. Vigier's images are the starting point for a dialogue with one of the first photographers to confront the mountain from direct experience. This work is the result of 42ºN, aof the parts that make up Interactions.
