Universes. David Jiménez

Universescreates a poetic space that blurs the boundary between reality and our inner images.

Location: LaCaixa Room and Torre Room

THE EXHIBITION

Universes, by David Jiménez, brings together the essence of his work articulated in the series ROMA, Aura, and Versus. They are the result of long research processes in both images and exhibition format, highlighting his interest in fragmentation and resonance, and the exploration of the possibilities of combining images in both physical media and projections and audiovisual pieces.

This exhibition stems from the artist's decision to experiment with his work, exploring the limits of representation and the different ways in which images relate to each other. The artist thus reveals the capacity of images to evoke new meanings. His work, always suggestive, gives the viewer the feeling that something has been hidden, inviting them to activate the images based on their own personal and emotional experience.

Universos, by David Jiménez, brings together the artist's most essential works based on his ROMA, Aura, and Versus series. It is the culmination of long-term visual research on images themselves and also raises questions about exhibition formats. He works with fragmentation and resonance, exploring the possibilities of combining images, both material and non-material (projections and audiovisual pieces).

This exhibition arose from the artist’s decision to experiment with his work by exploring the boundaries of representation and the different ways the images relate to each other. The artist reveals the images’ ability to generate new meanings. His work, always suggestive, gives the viewer the feeling that something remains hidden and invites them to activate the images based on their own personal and emotional experiences.
