ROGER SALAS
Born in Holguín (Cuba) in 1950, he has been the dance and ballet critic for the newspaper El País for 28 years. As a critic and chronicler, he has been an enlightened witness to the most important events in the field worldwide, awarded and recognized by the ballet profession in the most demanding performance forums, from the Venice Biennale to the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg and La Scala in Milan. His lectures have reached the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
In addition to giving lectures in different parts of the world, he is the author of numerous books and articles on dance and ballet.
BLACK TIGHTS
Black Tights is a 1961 short film featuring live footage from Paris, in which a narrator links together four spectacular choreographies by Roland Petit: Carmen (1949), La croqueuse de diamants (1950), Deuil en 24 heures (1953), and Cyrano de Bergerac (1959).

THE YOUNG MAN AND DEATH
Le Jeune Homme et la Mort is a ballet by Roland Petit, choreographed in 1946 to Bach's Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor, BWV 582, with a one-act libretto by Jean Cocteau. It tells the story of a young man driven to suicide by his unfaithful lover.
