Coda in Motion. The Tales of Hoffman

Screening of the film "The Tales of Hoffman," a feature film directed by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. The film was nominated for an Oscar for Best Art Direction and Costume Design.

The Tales of Hoffmann is a film adaptation of the opera of the same name. The film tells the story of a melancholic poet who reflects on three women he loved and lost in the past: a mechanical doll, a Venetian courtesan, and the daughter of a famous composer.

ROGER SALAS

Born in Holguín (Cuba) in 1950, he has been the dance and ballet critic for the newspaper El País for 28 years. As a critic and chronicler, he has been an enlightened witness to the most important events in the field worldwide, awarded and recognized by the ballet profession in the most demanding performance forums, from the Venice Biennale to the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg and La Scala in Milan. His lectures have reached the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and the Guggenheim Museum in New York.

In addition to giving lectures in different parts of the world, he is the author of numerous books and articles on dance and ballet.
