The individual and the whole. The "I" and the "other." Are we one, or are we each separate?

Celebrating human diversity and exploring difference and immigration through dance are the objectives of this new production by Becky Siegel, born from the participation of all the dancers in the choreographic creation. In each performance, the performers are both dancers and choreographers, creating live. And the audience witnesses their process.

The dancers, who come from very different backgrounds and have very diverse life and professional trajectories, explore the issue of immigration through dance and their own experiences: the search for a new land, the arrival in a place that may not be very welcoming, the encounter with the "other." Global dance is the dance that results from the flow of people and the imperious impulse of the vital force that drives us to keep going no matter what.

The mixture of styles such as hip hop, African dance, and contemporary dance gives the language great power, enormous expressiveness, and a wide variety of nuances. The piece is part of a larger project that seeks to confront racism and xenophobia head-on and take steps to ensure that contemporary dance in Navarre reflects the reality of today's society.

EveryOne was created at the Casa de Cultura in Aoiz thanks to the support of the Department of Culture of the Government of Navarre as part of the DNA festival. Its presentation at Museo en Danza is the result of the collaboration between the University of Navarre Museum and the festival.
