How to do things with... the classics
A conversation with Ignacio García and Carlos Mata
The idea of "classic" refers to the canon of masterpieces formed within a tradition. For those who are part of it, classics are bearers of historical memory and have the ability to illuminate today from yesterday.
Now, what is their value when the context changes? Is it possible to defend them on the basis of their universality? Do they lose their relevance in our changed world, coming from a past so remote that it is alien to us?
The Clásicos en el Museo del MUN program, now in its seventh edition, is an opportunity to discuss the methods and criteria for updating the classics in conversation with Ignacio García and Carlos Mata.
