Introduction to Egyptian hieroglyphics
with Olga Navarro

A theoretical and practical workshop in eight sessions to introduce us to the basics and grammar of Middle Egyptian (Classical) and the correct writing of hieroglyphics.

Reading, writing, transliteration, and translation exercises, as well as the recognition of hieroglyphics in Egyptian artwork, are the practical exercises that will lead participants to understand and delve into the language of Egyptian hieroglyphics.

OLGA NAVARRO

Doctor of Art History (specializing in Egyptian art), archaeologist, and specialist in
The application of ICT in education. She took her first steps in Egyptian grammar and hieroglyphic writing in 1998 and later took courses in hieratic and Neo-Egyptian with Dr. María Luz Mangado and at the University of Murcia.

She has taught courses for both adults and upper elementary school students at various institutions and has participated in numerous international conferences on Egyptology and ancient history. She has been the director of several temporary exhibitions on Egyptian art and has also participated in the layout of the catalogs for these exhibitions. 

She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Anelier Cultural Association, coordinator of the History of Egyptology Section at Amigos de la Egiptología (Friends of Egyptology), collaborates on the Cabeza Ladrero Archaeological Project (Sofuentes, Zaragoza), and writes articles for specialist magazines on archaeology and Egyptology, as well as working as a gallery assistant at the MUN.
