Big Band. Navarra Conservatory of Music

This group was created in 2005 as a subject included in the curriculum of the Jazz Department of the Conservatory of Music of Navarra. It brings together the most outstanding students of the different instruments related to this style: trumpets, trombones, saxophones, guitar, piano, double bass, bass, drums, and vocals.
Since its creation, it has given concerts in numerous venues, participated in the UPNA Jazz Festival, in the 1cJazz en la calle 1d cycle alongside Bob Sands, and accompanied trombonist Marshall Gilkes and singer Sabine Kuehlich.
The repertoire consists of arrangements of standards and original compositions written for the group by its director, Iñaki Askunze, who teaches arrangement, composition, and Big Band at the center.

CONCERT REPERTOIRE

It will consist of jazz-flamenco arrangements of songs by Chano Domínguez, Paco de Lucía, and Chick Corea, as well as original compositions for big band with lyrics by Federico García Lorca. All have been created by the group's director, Iñaki Askunze.
